5 Reminders To Survive (& Thrive) This Busy Szn
Hey all, welcome back to the blog and welcome to November, aka the penultimate chapter of the year! Honestly, how are we here already? I blinked, and suddenly 2024 is wrapping up in a nice bow!
It’s been a long ol' minute since I’ve popped up on the blog, and if you’re anything like me, I’m sure you’re feeling that winter whirlwind. Life’s been a busy blend of intense work at Monty, non-stop events at CLIQ, and trying to squeeze in time with family and friends when I can. Sound familiar? Yeah, the “just one more thing” season is officially in full swing.
But while we’re all caught up in the end-of-year hustle, here’s a quick PSA: we’ve got to remember to hit pause for our mental health and wellness. Trust me, I am still learning on the job. This busy season is fun (and sometimes chaotic), but we can’t run on empty- your body will force you to rest if you don't prioritise it. So, here are a few reminders to keep your sanity intact as we roll into the holidays:
1. The Art of the “No, Thx!” – Not every invite or task deserves a yes. Sometimes, the best self-care is a polite (or even sassy) “Nope, not today!” Let your FOMO (and yourself) take a nap.
2. Micro-Breaks = Magic – You don’t need a spa day to relax (though we do love a spa day). Even five minutes to breathe or to make a brew can make a world of difference. Get up and stretch – your brain will thank you.
3. Move It or Lose It – Don’t worry, I’m not saying you need to hit the gym for an hour every day. But a quick HGW walk, some stretches, or even a dance during SCD works. Plus, it’s an instant mood booster.
4. Fuel & Recharge – Remember, you’re not a robot. Make sure you’re eating foods that give you energy and getting enough sleep to function like a human, especially with these darker evenings.
5. Keep Your Circle Close – As much as we all love (and maybe dread) holiday events, make sure to spend time with the people who genuinely refill your cup. Whether it's a cosy hangout or a deep convo over matcha, meaningful connections make the season brighter.
Before we dive into the full-on holiday madness, let’s keep ourselves in check. It’s easy to get swept up in the busyness, but at the end of the day, you are the priority. Let’s make sure we’re crossing the finish line of 2024 happy, healthy, and not completely frazzled...You with me?
So, take a breather, practice some self-care, and remember: you're doing great. Until next time... Catch up on all things The Life of Molly every day and check out my IG here!
