Wanderlust

Happy July!

Hi, all you lovelies, as I sit here (in my new home) reflecting on how my summer was like last year, spending a month in Spain, having the freedom to travel, oh how times have changed. Even though things in society are slowly going back to normal, I do feel like there is a sense of anxiety with travelling. I believe something we do take for granted and we need to be grateful for is travelling to new counties, exploring new cities, eating different cuisines, and enjoying what this lovely world has to offer. I have recently been hit with a severe case of Wanderlust. And I know I'm not the only one.

Wanderlust

[Won-der-luhst]; noun

A strong desire or urge to wander or travel and explore the world.

I decided to share the holiday destinations I would love to go and travel to (some more unrealistic than others, but hey we all gotta have dreams and goals, I'll start saving now! ) This is in hopes it'll inspire you for your holidays in 2021 if you don't feel ok with travelling this year. And well, who doesn't love a little travel inspiration. I know I do!

Holiday Destination No 1- Italy

Who doesn't love a city break? I would love to go to Italy.

The first hotel I found was on here- https://www.cntraveler.com/gallery/best-hotels-in-rome, there are so many glorious looking hotels. Sobbing. But G Rough Hotel caught my eye.

The hotel is described 'Luxury that's intentionally rough around the edges and is tastefully eclectic.' Sounds like my cuppa tea. The vibe is industrial chic, (wow and it is a vibe). With only 10 rooms and all that are suites, it seems like a boutique hotel for the creatives.

The hotel has an art collection and the interiors are very cultural based, The G Bar is styled very art deco, how I would love to be sipping on a cocktail right there. Not only has Rome got to offer beautiful culture, so has this amazing hotel. I'm in love. This hotel is the ideal Roman hideaway for design lovers (me) and anyone wanting to stay at one of the most uniquely-decorated hotels in the city. Moreover, the hotel offers a load of unique experiences, including designing your own bag (helloooo, how cool!) Something you wouldn't find whilst exploring through Rome.

I had a look at the 'Junior Suite Plus' which is absolutely beautiful. And have shared a couple of the pictures below. Here is the link you want to check out the hotel: https://g-rough.com

Holiday Destination No 2- Maldives

No joke, this is my Honeymoon destination.

One of the places I've been too when I was younger and would love to go with my significant other. There are so many things I love about the Maldives, the beaches, the massages the water. Oh, how LUSH. I looked on this article for hotel inspiration- https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/asia/maldives/hotels/ and found this lil beauty Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Hotel, and it wasn't one of the more expensive options... The hotel is described as 'barefoot luxury at its best', anyone else missing the feeling of sand on their feet?

At this amazing hotel destination offers massage facilities; a necessity after all this COVID 19 business, I need a good spa session, also it offers two infinity pools (imagine how your Instagram would look.) Lastly offers water sports facilities, which isn't really to my preference you'll catch me with a mojito at the infinity pool. However, the sunset dolphin cruise sounds insane. Moreover, this restaurant offers 12 restaurants, so I would be definitely rolling back to the UK after all I've eaten and drank. Don't even get me started on the water villas, how bloody beaut.

Check out this hotel that is 'set on two private tropical islands connected by a 500m footbridge, this unique resort is home to the Maldives’ first undersea restaurant', this is where dreams are made of. Link here: https://www.conradmaldives.com.

Holiday Destination No 3- Mykonos

I am praying that I get to celebrate turning 21 in Mykonos. (Life update: we booked the holiday yesterday)

I have never been and it is one of the prettiest Greek Islands. Here is the website I had a look at for some inspiration. https://www.elitetraveler.com/travel/destination-guides/the-7-best-hotels-in-mykonos I had a look at Cavatagoo Hotel in Mykonos (there is also one in Santorini.)

First up the bloody sunset and the blue sea. Oh, how glorious. And look at this minimalistic white clean room, lush. Description- 'here you can dine by the infinity pool at the all-day lounge and bar, and in the ultra-stylish sea-view restaurant KIKU where Japanese cuisine and culture is celebrated.' Who doesn't love sushi? And an infinity pool, hello Instagram be popping. Sipping a glorious cocktail by that pool sounds like heaven. Moreover, the rooms are insane, some of them have indoor private hot tubs and pools.

This is the ideal holiday, to celebrate my 21st (and life) and come September I will be jetting to Mykonos, and don't you worry; I will share it all with you! Here is the hotel link: (https://www.cavotagoo.com/mykonos/

Holiday Destination No 4- Los Angeles

Another holiday destination I yearn to go to is LA, ever since watching the film Pretty Woman, I've always wanted to follow the footsteps of Julia Roberts.

Moreover seeing some of my favourite influencers take pictures walking down Rodeo Drive and at the Beverley Hills hotel, I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It is the dream destination for any blogger, fashionistas or city breakers. LA is a place that you have to go at least once.

Here is an article https://www.forbes.com/sites/bridgetarsenault/2019/06/26/best-hotels-in-los-angeles/#6e59c85f5390 on the best hotels in Los Angeles, and there is a lot to offer. I choose the iconic Hotel Bel-Air, described as 'A longstanding A-list favourite for decades, visiting the Hotel Bel-Air can feel akin to stepping back into the golden era of Hollywood. Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe have all stayed here', just this description screams elegance, what a vibe.

I love the pink style of the hotel, the palm trees, it reminds me of paradise. Other highlights include a spa, the food (YUM) and the rooms are beautiful, really conveys the history of the hotel. Here is the link to the hotel: https://www.dorchestercollection.com/en/los-angeles/hotel-bel-air/.

Holiday Destination No 5- Bali

Ah, this every Instagrammers dream.

When I picture myself here, I picture the concept of the pool breakfast trays that float towards you. This is a destination I'd love to go and maybe travel around, we shall see after I complete university next August. Here is the link to the best hotels- https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/asia/indonesia/bali/hotels/.

So the hotel I loved is the boutique luxury Bisma Eight Hotel and is described as 'a petite natural beauty with a big personality—the contemporary raw-concrete architecture and rustic materials ensure this all-suite boutique hotel in the jungle is in harmony with leafy Ubud.' Some of the highlights include a rooftop restaurant, hotel infinity, bamboo courtyard and the rooms are beautiful. The Garden suite (below) opens up to the courtyard. I love the concept of being one with nature. Also, the Spa looks amazing... ready for my full body massage right about now. Check out the hotel here: https://bisma-eight.com.

And there ya go, we just travelled the globe (virtually) of course. One day (in the not so distant future) we will be able to travel and explore the Earth again. I cannot wait to be hit with that hot air when coming off the plane in the next coming weeks. Please remember to stay safe. Enjoy the temperamental British weather, raise a glass to the memories we have yet to create during trips away and enjoy ya British burger. I will be back soon.
