I'm A Dermalogica #Skinfluencer. #Gifted

Hi all, I hope you are well. I am coming to you with one of the most exciting blog posts EVER. Like ever! For a little micro-blogger, this is such huge news- I got a gifted package from the skincare brand, Dermalogica. WHAT?

Let me tell you a bit more about the background of how this happened. At the end of last year, I filmed an IGTV using Dermalogica products, purely to share my love of their brand. As a blogger, I've always tried to be authentic and honest with the products/ brands that I share.

I have used Dermalogica's Clear Start products since I was in my early teens, back when I had terrible and hormonal skin, they have really helped me with my skin.

So, yes, filmed and uploaded the IGTV, they followed me on Instagram (which I was so shocked about, why would they want to follow little Mols?) Well, they sent me a #skinfluencer programme of my details etc, skin type, what products I use. I got no reply, didn't think I would even be considered and even forgot about it- it's been a busy and weird 6 months of 2020. And then out of the blue, I only went and got a reply about two weeks before travelling to Spain. No joke, I felt like crying with happy tears when I got that email. So here, we are, and I've been using the products now for a couple of weeks... and I thought how am I going to create content.

Here is an IGTV I uploaded a while in Espanol: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CDZPEwZpEPr/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link.

It was based on my first impressions, and since then I wanted to share a more of an in-depth review of the Dermalogica Range as one of their #skinfluencers. (Still so unbelievable to say that!) These products are for a younger demographic, however, both my mum and sister use the 'Adult' range, and I would also recommend.

In my first gifted package, I got 6 products: Breakout Clearing Wash, Breakout Clearing All Over Toner, Breakout Clearing Booster, Clearing Defence spf30, Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion and the Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask.

Breakout Clearing Wash

The aim of this foaming wash is too deep clean and purify the skin, clearing away dead skin cells, dirt and excess oils. I have used this product for years now- and I am scared to try anything else because it works so well.

I squeeze a coin size amount on my Foreo Luna Mini 3, which is like a face version of a toothbrush as it vibrates. And I move in circular motions on my face, neck, it foams up and makes bubbles and really cleans out my pores.

Ingredients used include Salicylic Acid, which really dives into your pores and helps wipe out existing and future breakouts, also includes 8 botanicals such as Tea Tree and Lavender to soothe and calm irritated skin. Lastly, there is orange peel extract which revives and energises the skin, perfect for early mornings.

I use this product in the morning and in the evening, every day. And I love it.

Breakout Clearing All Over Toner

Before COVID 19 changed our world forever, I used to go and have facials every 6 weeks and my beautician used these products every time. This product is so lightweight, smells gorge, and is refreshing, to keep our skin revived, like a glass of cool water on a warm day.

The aim of this mist is to clear the skin, without being too heavy. Something I really like especially when you use a product both in the morning and evening every day.

A couple of the ingredients include Sesame Seed Extract which help minimize the surface oils that create breakouts. As well as Camellia Sinensis and Argan, which is known to soothe skin aggravation triggered by breakouts.

Just go ahead spritz all over the face & neck (with your eyes closed) and let absorb, refresh and soothe. Lush.

Clearing Defence SPF30

I feel like Dermalogica knew 1) I was going on holiday. 2) I end up burning until I am a tomato. This cream is exactly what I needed, it mattifies and protects breakout-prone skin from environmental stress. Waiting for Dermalogica to release a skincare product to protect from life stress.

This lightweight formula provides a longlasting matte finish (no greasiness in the sun) without clogging pores. Ingredients include antioxidant Willow Bark and Green Tea Extract, with Vit C combat environmental pollution and defends us against UV Rays. It is a big fat yes from me, and will be a travel essential wherever warm I go.

Lastly, obviously apply regularly, or you will also turn into a tomato.

Breakout Clearing Booster

I had never seen or used this product before, however, I was intrigued. The aim of the Breakout Clearing Booster is to stop a breakout before it turns into a full-grown spot.

The directions are to apply both AM and PM, directly on the area of the breakout, but under moisturiser.

The description says the product works in 15 minutes. Just like Magic. However, my first impressions, it didn't really do a lot. I personally, think as I have a lot more under skin blackheads than on the skin whiteheads, I am not 100% sure if it is still as effective.

The booster is formulated with Salyiac Acid, as well as this thing Niacinimide (have no clue what that is) but it reinforces the skin's barrier, which is VERY important.

Sidenote: this product is Vegan, cruelty and gluten-free.

Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion

This product is all about soothing and hydrating relief for your skin, and oh yes it does that. I wish I had used this when I was younger, as I used to have medical acne treatments and my skin dried out. The description, 'say goodbye to dehydrated, breakout irritated skin with this lightweight moisturiser', something crucial with all this hot weather. It is super easy to apply and smells gorge (to be honest, all of these products do!)

Ingredients include a plant-based Squalene which softens and nourishes, Hyaluronic Acid which gives instant relief of dehydration. Moreover, the gentle botanicals including ginger and grapefruit soothe and protect the skin. A combination of heaven.

Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask

This was the product I was most excited to use, mainly for the name. I mean fizz mask? What would this feel like, popping candy, a glass of fizz? Who doesn't want a glass of prosecco? How intriguing.

The description is 'Fizz Activated, Blackheads Eliminated'. The aim of this product is to clears pores and blackheads, with the use of 2-3 times per week and more if needed, and only having to leave for only a couple of mins. My first impressions was literal shock, it was the strangest feeling.

With technology activating as soon as you rub, it helps to activate your open pores, decongest the skin. Sulfur provides anti-microbial benefits to help keep skin clear as well as Kaolin Clay absorbs excess oil.

This product is my new favourite, I definitely recommend it.

And there ya go, I hope that was informative and helpful, with hopes that it inspired you to go and treat yourself to these products, or at least go to check this brand out.
